Workshop at the GFSIS
The Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted a workshop on the Action Plan of the Government of Georgia State Strategy on Occupied Territories on February 10, 2010. The event was supported by the Institute for Security and Development Policy represented at the workshop by Johanna Popjanevski.

Afghanistan: Why and How
On December 3, 2009, the GFSIS and Georgian Security Analysis Center (GSAC) hosted a public seminar, “Afghanistan: Why and How.” The chairman of the seminar was Professor Alexander Rondeli, President, GFSIS. The speakers were COL Matthew Brand, United States Defense Attaché, H. E. Eric Fournier, Ambassador of France to Georgia, Mr. Niloloz Vashakidze, Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia and Ambassador David J. Smith, Director, GSAC.

Minority Communities of Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti
On November 30, 2009, the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) in cooperation with the Institute for Security and Development Policy (ISDP, Sweden) held a workshop on the issues faced by the minority communities of Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti.

The Black Sea Peacebuilding Network
On November 13, 2009 the third meeting of the experts involved in Georgian component of “The Black Sea Peacebuilding Network” project was held in GFSIS. The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland and in cooperation with the Crisis Management Initiative.

Civil Society Leaders Network Programm Completed
The last seminar within the framework of the Civil Society Leaders Network was carried out in Odessa on 31 October – 2 November, 2009. The overall theme of the two year program is On-going Democratic Reforms in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Both groups: Group III – Human Rights and Group IV – European Integration each consisted of 6 participants from 5 countries participated in the event. 11 Georgian leaders representing different Georgian NGOs participated in Odessa seminar participated in the discussions and presentations.
